Toppers tips to study for Physics
You can start with HC Verma, its a good book, try attempting all of its subjective questions after reading and understanding the theory part. Then you could do questions from DC Pandey, it has some tough problems that will strengthen your concept.
If you attempt and understand each and every problem of these two books, you can score good mark in JEE advanced. After completing these two books you should try solving FIITJEE's GMP or Resonance's Rank Booster. The top Engineering Entrance Examswill contain question from these books. Then there are other books like IE Irodov, Cengage Advance Problem in School Physics which contains high level problems which could really enhance your problem solving skills and would tremendously affect your rank,
but you should only attempt them when you have strongly build up our base and have attempted lots of problems before.
1. Improve accuracy and speed
There is no point of solving many books when you cant get most of the question right in the first attempt. Silly Mistakes are hugely ignored by students. This is one of the major area where students lose marks. You should never ignore even a single silly mistake.
Try noting down your every mistake that you commit in a separate notebook, you wont realise this now but it will help you a lot.
Select around 10-15 problems and try solving all these Important Questions in one sitting without checking the answers in between, after solving all of the questions check your accuracy and then analyse where you made mistake. Try to make sure you don't commit the same mistakes again.
If you couldn't solve any particular question, mark it or write it in some other notebook. Then you should discuss these unsolved problems with your friends or with your teacher. Just don't leave that question, try to understand it by any other source.
2. Eliminate Distractions
Throw your smartphone, leave all social networking sites, don't listen to music or watch movies. Sounds funny and very unjustified but its for your own good, you might not realise this now, but having a focussed mind would really help you. I am not telling you to stop living, but you will have more than sufficient time for all this in college, believe me. You can play sports once in a while, no problem in that though.
3. Constant Motivation
You need to stay motivated all the time. Think about all the perks of being a IITian. Its something that you have to develop on your own, cant help here.
4. Plan your time
Make a proper time table. Follow that rigorously
